Amanda Arlington

Amanda Arlington likes to revel in the process of making an image. From her point of view, making an image is simply a part of living, breathing and seeing. She seeks to translate this on the page or screen, be it through photography, drawing and painting, stop motion design, or video. The magic of the image simply for the sake of making an image is what drives her creative process. While Amanda used to do commercial photography work, especially weddings and portraits, she is now only available to consider specialized fine art projects and proposals from the people that collect her work.

She has traveled to Oaxaca, Mexico to cover the folk arts there from the Pre-Columbian age to the present with a special exhibition that accompanied her thesis presentation on this topic.

Other image making journeys have included France and England. However, family and the object as a representation of memory and identity remain ongoing themes in her work currently.
